Three of our most recent new builds were out together a couple of weeks ago and we were fortunate to get some video footage of them from a drone.
The largest is a 16m Pilot Boat for Forth Ports called the "Forth Puma". She is our latest 16m GRP Pilot Boat and features a resiliently mounted superstructure which has resulted in very low noise levels in the wheelhouse which has the benefit of reducing crew and pilot fatigue. Another development on this 16m Pilot Boat is a further improvement of the, already excellent, all round visibility by the use of bonded windows rather than the more conventional aluminium framed windows.
The other Pilot Boat is the "St Columba" which we built for Stena Line Ports and operates out of the Port of Holyhead, she also has a resiliently mounted superstructure and has bonded windows. She also has the same Popsure advanced fendering system which is fitted to her bigger sister. This fendering system is specifically designed for Pilot Boats and is only available on pilot boats designed by Camarc Design Ltd.
The RHIB featured in the video is a 5m Daughter RHIB which we recently delivered to the North Western Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authority (NWIFCA) as part of the package of converting a 21m WFSV into a Fisheries Patrol Boat.
